Our Story
Originally established in 2017 as a private practice offering equine-assisted psychotherapy, Windstone Counseling has continued to grow and evolve toward a broader vision of integrated wellness.
The name Windstone was created in recognition of Dr. Leslie Wind, a beloved social work professor, mentor, and dear friend whose influence profoundly shaped my personal and professional development. “Wind” reflects her last name, while “stone” represents the strength, stability, and support she provided throughout that journey because she was my rock.
Dr. Wind passed away from cancer in 2021, but her legacy remains at the heart of Windstone Wellness Center. Her commitment to compassion, authenticity, growth, and meaningful human connection continues to guide the practice as it expands its approach to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
